the world through my eyes

Itta Bhatti (Brick Factory)

This documentary series is a visual exploration of the "Itta Bhatti" (Brick Factory), where I wanted to capture the raw, structural rhythm of one of Nepal’s most foundational industries. By playing with dramatic perspectives and the natural, dusty atmosphere of the kilns, I focused on the scale of the environment and the quiet strength of the manual labor behind it. For me, this project was about finding the cinematic beauty in the grit, turning the repetitive nature of industrial work into a compelling story of form and perseverance.

Reincarnation

This is a meditative series on the cyclical nature of life, seen through the inanimate objects of my childhood home in Nepal. After four years in the U.S., I returned to find a landscape that felt unchanged, not because the objects were the same, but because their spirit and purpose were. In Hinduism, reincarnation is the transition of a soul into a new vessel; in my parents’ home, this manifests as the "rebirth" of household items. A worn-out container becomes a planter; a tool finds a second life far removed from its original intent.

These photographs are an ode to my parents’ tenacity and sacrifice. They "squeezed the life" out of every resource to provide us with an education and a future, treating every object as something worthy of repair and reassignment. By photographing these still lifes in their natural habitat, I aim to pause the cycle of rebirth for a fraction of a second, capturing the "karma" of the inanimate and reflecting on the roots that allowed me to grow.

Facade

Facade is a visual exploration of the chaotic, dynamic, yet oddly tranquil lifestyle of the Kathmandu Valley. In these monochromatic frames, I document a way of life that I believe is on the verge of extinction. While the surface shows familiar street scenes and traditional commerce, there are symbols of globalization and corporatization hidden in plain sight. These are details that many overlook but which signal a profound shift in our societal structure.

By stripping away color, I want to pull the viewer’s focus toward these facades and the underlying tension between heritage and a rapidly approaching corporate future. This project is a quiet observation of a transition, capturing the spirit of a community before its traditional rhythm is permanently altered by the global tide.

Through Land & Space

Through Land & Space is a visual journey across the diverse geographies and architectures that have shaped my perspective. This collection captures the distinct energy of different locations, ranging from the ancient temples and mountain ranges of Nepal to the structured urban landscapes of the United States.

By focusing on expansive horizons and the interplay between natural light and human-made structures, the photography explores how environment dictates mood and sense of place. This project serves as a record of my transition between two worlds, highlighting the beauty and scale of the spaces we inhabit.
